Ernie Mexter

We are saddened to hear of the recent passing of the former Chief Executive of Ashford Borough Council, Ernest (Ernie) Mexter. 

Ernie was a dedicated supporter of the friendship between our twin towns and worked closely with Herr Ferdinand Lethert MBE (Ferdi) on many development projects with the two remaining good friends for many years. Both were awarded the the Freedom of the Borough, the highest award Ashford Borough Council can bestow.
